«…I´m impressed of the power and originality of this release and enjoyed listen to it, with volume at a high level.» «For Burst_log, Möslang has extensively reworked the first three tracks of an earlier CD, Lat_nc, and made something even more compelling of the material. … There's a flavour of Illbient and roughened digi-dub…showing that Möslang isn't unaware of the outer reaches of dance music.» «Making extensive use of the first three tracks of his own CD "Lat_nc_", Möslang presents a bleak landscape with "Burst_Log". Oddly enough, the first track features an intense, repetitive beat, bathed in a swoosh of glitchy scum. As the track progresses, we get to hear a variety of slight shifts in what could be radio frequencies boiling underneath. In various points along the disc's duration, we're assaulted with scouring glitches, explosion-type and crackling effects and a sundry of alien sounds.» «Ex-Voice Crack member Norbert Möslang took the first three tracks from his CD lat_nc (For 4 Ears, 2004) as a starting point to come up with six new tracks. Track 1 opens this album with a seven-minute long mechanical rhythmic structure, slightly reminding of a machine hall. Track 2 to 6 are lovely apocalyptic energetic mixtures of high peeps and devastating noise moments. Everything is under control though; the production and sound quality are excellent, and the compositions show they have been created with utmost care. Electronics sounding like whales are put together with droning effects and metallic, scraping sound fragments. Harsh, intense and intelligent at the same time.» «It's musique concrete in optima forma, even when Möslang takes things into a more rhythmic area. Small blocks of sounds are formed, looped around and Möslang create densely layered, rhythmic patterns that are not unlike the work of Pan Sonic, certainly in the first two pieces of this CD. Further down the road, things are more spacious (without ever getting close to ambient music of course), but it's less based on rhythm here. It is a rather surprising work, not one that takes the route of going more abstract, but takes up the limitation of more rhythmic work and expand from that. At that, this is a great work.» |
