«…Poire_z create a cauldron of hot electronic warping, soliciting ears to raise high upon the sad nothingness of most of today's techno-geeks. This is a great aural experience, often similar to listening to a crazy AM radio station at night while being surrounded by the noises of a civil war; rarely improvisation gets better than this, another pearl in the brilliant For 4 Ears necklace.»
M.Ricci, Touching Extremes

«A fascinating recording.»
P.Bijlsma, Phosphor Magazine

«q goes beyond being music coming out of your speakers to become part of the room.»
M.Wuethrich, all about jazz

«…ce disque témoigne d'une expérience magnifique, celle de la rencontre impromptue entre le plus grand chanteur improvisateur vivant, Phil Minton et l'un des plus brillants groupes de musique électronique, poire_z. … Exceptionel.»
Dino, Revue&Corrigée

«…it’s a particularly robust and enjoyable one, one of the best moments in the poire_z catalogue.»
E.Howard, Stylus Magazine

«For what became Poire_z's last performance, the quartet invited an unlikely guest: British vocalist Phil Minton. The singer's highly idiosyncratic vocal experiments could be seen as the antithesis of Poire_Z's makeshift electronic spitter-spatter, but on the contrary, they complete each other rather well. Minton's snore-like drones, throaty overtones, and scrambled shortwave-esque mumbles integrate fully into Voice Crack's chirping cracked everyday electronics, Günter Müller's endless electronic treatments of minute percussive gestures and prerecorded sounds on iPod/MDs, and eRikm's relentless noise sculpting. … As swansongs go, this album sees Poire_Z leaving the stage in style.»
F.Couture, All Music Guide

«Asking the doyen of British free improv singing to sit in with the cast of poire_z (Gunter Muller, Norbert Moslang, Erikm and Andy Guhl) seemed on the face of it to be an intriguing idea. Their music tended to rich and bubbling enough to easily absorb and integrate even the wilder vocal articulations Minton often proffers. And, indeed, the fit is fairly seamless.»
B.Olewnick, Bagatellen

«… for this they invited an instrument that was as far away as possible: the human voice. Here played by Phil Minton, so it's hard to tell what his voice and what are electronics. Poire_Z sound here more furious than before, and I don't mean that they became so much more noiser than before, but rather they are very focussed to what they do. The addition of Minton's voice, sometimes dry and recognizable and sometimes totally drenched inside the electronics add a great counterpoint to the otherwise electronic sound. Forty some minutes of intense and concentrated playing.»
